1/13-15: Finding Home: Cultivating Faithfulness to True Self in Ministry and Life

Finding Home: Cultivating Faithfulness to True Self in Ministry and Life, January 13-15, 2020

This three-day Circle of Trust retreat will be at St. Andrews Retreat Center in Union, WA.

In the retreat, skilled facilitators help to create a quiet, focused, and disciplined space – a Circle of Trust® – in which the noise within us and around us can subside and we can begin to hear our own inner voice.

Message from Rev. Julie Scheer Johnson:

My co-facilitator Emily Chamberlain and I are creating the retreat to be a peaceful mid-week time to reflect and renew following the joy and busyness of Advent and Christmas.  At the Finding Home retreat, we’ll explore what it means to be at home with who we are, and we’ll reflect on the spaces of deep joy that honor our best gifts. Together, we’ll listen for next steps in our personal and professional lives and honor the places where God meets us.

Registration for this retreat is now available!  I’d love to welcome you to the retreat if you are looking for a place of solitude in community like this.  I’ve attached the flyer which has complete retreat information, including registration information.  I have also provided the link to online registration below.

9/10-12: NWC Presbytery Pastors Retreat

Among the last words that Jesus issued to his disciples in his Olivet Discourse (Mark 13) was the admonition to” Watch” or “Stay Awake. ”  In essence it was a call to take up the mantle of a prophet and to look for the signs of God’s work.  It was a call to attentiveness and contemplation, an invitation to consider well the events taking place around us and look for the presence of God in and among those events.  The prophetic task of giving witness to the Kingdom of God begins with contemplation of the presence of God.  The praying imagination is what gives birth to passionate proclamation.  Using the Olivet Discourse in Mark 13 as background and passages from three Old Testament Sentinels, Habbakuk, Isaiah and Ezekiel, we will explore our calling as pastors and practice that work of staying awake to God’s presence.  As we reflect on these texts as a large group, in small discussion groups and individual silent reflection our hope is to listen for and respond to the voice of God.

4/29-5/3: West Coast Presbyterian Pastors Conference

West Coast Presbyterian Pastors Conference

West Coast Presbyterian Pastors Conference is an annual week of spiritual and physical renewal in Christ for pastors.  At WCPPC we simply gather each year around the centrality of Jesus Christ and His Word and renew our connection to others called by God to pastoral ministry in the Presbyterian family. Our DNA is best described as:

Presbyterian
We are from the Presbyterian/Reformed family, with pastors that largely serve Presbyterian denominations such as the PC-USA, ECO and the EPC. We are welcoming of pastors from other traditions as well.

Evangelical:
We understand this in the classic British sense of the term, as Christ-centered and Bible based.

Egalitarian:
We support both men and women in the pastoral ministry and now intentionally schedule both male and female speakers.

Covenant Community:
Biblical and Theological teaching remain a priority for our conference.  Our commitment to covenant community in small groups is prioritized in our schedule.  Consistent times of worship, rest and laughter continue to make WCPPC a unique continuing education week in the annual ministry life of pastors.
